How Long Is My Appraisal Good For?
Posted June 1st, 2017
You’ve probably had an appraisal at least once since the purchase of your home or property, but you may be wondering how long that is good for and when you’ll need another.
The Short Answer
The short answer is that your appraisal is good for 90-180 days depending on lender requirements. For most people, this time frame has passed and you’ll need a new one. We’ll discuss this more below.
The Long Answer
Unless you buy and sell within that timeframe we can almost guarantee you’ll need a new appraisal. You’ll need a new one if you’re planning on making an estate transfer, selling, remodeling, renovating, tax disputes or even for your own records. Think of it as renewing your license, but for your house.
Many lenders will have contracts with their own approved appraisers but if you ever find yourself needing one, or even if you have a few questions, feel free to give us a call at 941-743- 3700.
