Lora Keller FamilyMoving to a new area is a huge life change especially if you are moving from one state to another. Florida is one of the most exciting states to live in and has the third-highest population of any state in the US.

One of the reasons why Florida is so popular is because of the coastline. Having a state that is almost completely surrounded by water means there are large cities with all types of people, cultures, and an abundance of fresh food.

There are so many different areas with unique blends in their communities. One of the best places to live in Florida would have to be the city of Sarasota. Most people would assume that the major cities such as Miami or Tampa would be the best places to move. However, this amazing city is the gem that most tourists don’t know about.

Local Floridians know that Sarasota is a beautiful area with a gorgeous bay that allows for easy trade as well as a lot of fresh fish. The school systems are rated very highly and the crime rates over the last ten years have dropped almost by half.

There are so many reasons to look at moving to Sarasota but some of the main ones are the schools, the location, and the rapidly dropping crime rates. These 3 things make Sarasota a quickly up and coming area that will soon be well known as a Florida hot spot.

The Neighborhood

Sarasota Florida is quickly becoming a well-known area for families to settle down. There are several reasons why but the most important of which would be the school district as well as the neighborhood youth programs.

The school district is filled with different elementary, middle, and high schools all with different rankings. The best-ranked schools seem to be concentrated around South Sarasota near the Siesta Key.

This area is just absolutely gorgeous and filled with wonderful homes just a short distance from the bay. An area like this is just to die for with the amazing views, easy accessibility to the water, the fresh seafood, and the wonderful area for your kids to grow.

Crime rates

No matter where you end up living you want to make sure that it’s a safe place for you to comfortably live with your family. Safety is key when it comes to the ones you care about. This is why crime rates matter.

When deciding on your next place to live, you will want to check out crime rates in the neighborhoods that you are looking at. How you end up doing that all depends on why you are moving in the first place.

If you are moving to Florida due to a job, to be closer to family, or even because of friends, that means you already have an area in which you are looking for a home. Since your search is already narrowed down to a specific area you should look for somewhere that has a lower crime rate percentage.

If you are moving to Florida and have no set area that you are looking to move to you should start your search by looking through crime rate percentages online. You can find an area that has a relatively lower crime percentage rate than other areas and go from there.

Sarasota’s crime rates have plummeted over the years and are now half of what they were back in 2010. Since the crime rate in Sarasota is dropping fast, it’s becoming a hot spot for families trying to settle down in wonderful homes near the inner coast.

Home Prices in Sarasota

Sarasota Florida is such a beautiful area along the coast of Florida. Because of the location, the average home price can range from around 200,000 to about 300,000 depending on the size of the house and the neighborhood within Sarasota that the property is located.

The closer to the coastline that you get the higher the price of the home gets understandably. In addition, the schools in Sarasota also tend to be rated higher closer to the coast. The better area combined with the highly-rated schools makes Sarasota a hidden gem that most locals don’t want you to know about.
